I have to give to Palin...She's a pretty woman....and tat's it. Besides that she's governor in the last year-you really don't need some serious education for that- successful or un-successful we argue about that for a long time. It's bad enough that she has zero work & political experience to prepare her for the VP seat, but she's a traitor too. "No. It's not 75 per cent of our oil being exported," said Palin, suggesting some of Alaska's oil may, in fact, may be going abroad but not that much of it.
"In fact," she then added, "Congress is pretty strict on, um, export bans of oil and gas especially."
No Alaska oil has been exported since 2004, and little if any since 2000, according to the Energy Information Administration and the Congressional Research Service.
But Congress has never imposed outright bans on US oil or natural gas exports.
But B*sh recently decided (he is the decider) to..."authorize the export of 98.1 billion cubic feet (about 2.8 billion cubic meters) of Alaskan natural gas to Japan and other countries."

The budget surplus is because of ballooning oil prices and profits, all of which help Alaska's tax revenue but had nothing to do with Palin's supposed "budget expertise". If most other governors had Alaska's oil production to tax, only then could we compare apples to apples.
The global spike in oil prices, while hard on businesses and painful for everyone else in the U.S., is a happy accident for Palin and clouds her real governing acumen.
With all of that surplus money, you would think that Alaska shouldn't be asking for federal earmarks at 5 times the national per/capita average. But they do. How patriotic.
